Senior IT Platform Engineer for Cloud Engineering Tooling (Chainguard) | Contract

Responsibilities:

• Manage squad composition and ensure effective time management.
• Manage and maintain secure base images using Chainguard’s containers.
• Oversee image lifecycle: updates, deprecation, and SLA compliance.
• Customize base images using Chainguard’s Custom Assembly platform.
• Integrate Chainguard into CI/CD pipelines and ensure compatibility with GitHub and Artifactory.
• Collaborate with internal squads to align container security with product goals.
• Collaborate within the squad to achieve both long-term squad missions and short-term sprint goals.
• Contribute to delivering unified squad objectives, ensuring teamwork and cooperation.
• Step outside your area of expertise when necessary to meet squad goals.
• Be open to feedback and continuously learn and improve.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with container security and image strategies.
• Familiarity with Chainguard’s tooling, including patched toolchains and base image variants.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline design.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, and AWS cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Java is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams.
