Senior Java Developer | Baltic States and Poland Citizen (remote) | Contract

Be part of a Core Banking team modernizing and supporting mission-critical services for a leading banking platform. You will deliver new features, reduce technical debt, and ensure regulatory compliance using Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices on highly available, enterprise-scale systems. Expertise with Kafka, Oracle Database, and event-driven architectures is key to maintaining resilient integrations with digital channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain Java microservices with Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate.
• Develop and integrate REST/SOAP services and Kafka-based messaging solutions.
• Optimize SQL queries and ensure performance on Oracle Database.
• Contribute to core banking transformation and legacy-modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams, providing technical leadership and code reviews.
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and regulatory compliance across distributed systems.

Must-Have Requirements:

• 5+ years of enterprise Java development (Java 11/17+).
• Deep Spring Framework / Spring Boot expertise.
• Proven experience with REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on with JPA/Hibernate, Maven or Gradle.
• Proficiency in Kafka (or similar messaging) and Oracle Database performance tuning.
• Solid grasp of core banking architecture, integration patterns, and high-availability design.
• Experience in production-critical financial environments and Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Fluent English plus strong analytical and stakeholder-communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to core banking platforms such as Oracle FLEXCUBE, Temenos T24, Finacle, Mambu, or Thought Machine.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and AWS / Azure / GCP.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), automated testing, and ISO 20022 / SWIFT standards.
• Background in core banking migration or transformation programs.
